The Mighty Boosh Live
November 29, 2008 by Gary Evans · Comments
Metro Radio Arena, Newcastle, 26/11/08.

The Boosh have been together almost ten years now, so it has hardly been a meteoric rise, but for a comedy duo to play an arena tour is still mighty impressive.
The question on most fans lips was, however, would the pairing of Noel Fielding and Julian Barret’s unique style of psychedelic, irreverent story telling translate to a stage that even the biggest of rock bands can disappear on? Read more

As always Ellie, a bubbly West highland terrier, greets me with excitement, jumping up and giving me her paws, demanding a belly rub. Lynn laughs and manages to pull her away. It is early on a Saturday and there isn’t the usual buzz of activity in the house. Once Ellie is satisfied she has been given enough attention we settle at the table. Read more
Alan Kelly and the Dogs of Tralee

My friends seem to think old music became old because it had been done to death.
The songs somehow got so tiresome people stopped doing it and forever put it in the category of overdone, “I’m sure it was interesting at the time, but we’ve moved on since yesteryear, we want something original.”
I disagree. With the ever more familiar repetitive nature, bands that look like they’re sponsored by top man and a ‘whacky’ name to be a real band are constantly hailed as the new ‘new’ by doing the same thing, at least that’s all I can hear. The same thing. Read more

Yuvraj Destroys England….Again
November 22, 2008 by Alfie Wilkinson · Comments
England were yet again humbled by India as the tourists fell to a 54 run defeat in Indore, in the second one day international on Monday.
As in the first game, it was the devastating Yuvraj Singh who dominated the match, taking four wickets and scoring 118 before being caught behind of the bowling of Stuart Broad. Broad ended with four wickets for 55 runs and batsman Owais Shah hit a knock of 58 but apart from that there was little for England captain Kevin Pieterson to shout about.
“We improved from the last game, lets hope we can improve some more,” said the England skipper, “we need the bowlers to take wickets and the batsmen to score runs.” Read more
