“Fashion is a religion. This is the Bible” - ‘The September Issue.’

The magazine itself can be described as being a Woman’s’ Bible to fashion. It features new trends and guides women in different styles of clothing from the many pages filled with different looks and outfits’.

Vogue issues on a monthly basis. However, they say that the September issue is as big as the January issue when it comes to the forum of fashion. September is an important month for the team makers’ of Vogue. So important, the whole run up to producing the issue is what’s being documented in the film.

The film unveils how the magazine industry ‘really’ works. The audience has Access to all areas of the issue whilst it’s being made. It is specifically Vogues editor in chief, Anna Wintour who is being followed in the film. Alongside her, is the impressive team of editors which help contribute and create the content within the magazine.

What you also see in ‘The September Issue’ is who the last person to make all the decisions is. It goes without question that of course, Anna Wintour ‘Considered the most powerful force in the fashion industry’ has overall say.  With her signature Louise Brooks bob, trademark sunglasses, it is Miss Wintour in ‘The September Issue’ ruling the Magazine and influencing the world of fashion.

‘The September Issue’ was released in the UK on 11th of September 2009. What with the success of programmes like ‘The Hills’ and ‘The City’ it is now a renowned thing for many young girls to want an insight into the magazine industry. So, something as real as ‘The September’ issue is most certainly a due impartial to watch for any female wanting to make it big in the realms of a magazine.

The ‘September Issue’ contains pointers, almost like a checklist, that define how perfect you have to be if you want even the smallest chance to succeed in a magazine like ‘Vogue.’

Anna Wintour herself says: ” I wake at 5:30am every morning and play tennis before getting properly ready to be in the office for 8:30am” It shows how her life is 100% dedicated to being on top form for her job. When asked , “Is there anything you regret?” Her answer is simple, “Spending time with my children.”

This film is a great insight into the world of fashion and the lady who puts everything in motion.  If you like The Hills or The city, your going to love this.
